Install

Open the disk image, drag Inkling to Applications, launch it.

Steps

Download Inkling-0.1.1.dmg (1.9 MB).
Open it and drag Inkling.app onto the Applications folder shown next to it.
Open it from Applications. If an older copy was there before, delete that one first.
Grant the three permissions when the menu-bar item asks.

If macOS says the app is damaged or from an unidentified developer, see the support page; it is the quarantine flag, not the app.

Requirements

macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on Apple silicon or Intel.
Claude Code, installed and signed in. Inkling looks for the claude binary in ~/.local/bin, /opt/homebrew/bin, /usr/local/bin and ~/.claude/local. Not installed yet? curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | sh, then run claude once to sign in.
A paid Claude plan or a Console API key. Claude Code needs one; Inkling just runs Claude Code. Inkling never sees your credentials.
Three permissions: Accessibility, Screen Recording and Automation. The privacy policy says what each is for.

After installing

Pull a piece down out of the notch and drop it on a file, a folder or a window. If something does not work, the support page covers the usual causes: Claude Code not found, a permission not taking effect, and Gatekeeper. To remove everything, see uninstall.
